Pain Management Your Way
Labor is a natural — although, sometimes challenging — process. No two women have the same perception of labor pain and no two labors are exactly alike. Ultimately, if you choose to use pain management, you need to choose options that are right for you.
The advantages and disadvantages of the various options should be discussed with your doctor. They are outlined in Preparing For the Birth of Your Baby, the Richland Hospital publication you will receive from the hospital, if you choose to receive care here.
Your physician will discuss and help you learn about pain management options available to you. Should you want an epidural during delivery, this would be administered by a member of the Richland Hospital Anesthesia team.
